Life's been a heck of a ride so far and I can't see getting off anytime soon. Or can I?
Bret's death shook me hard and made me look at everything I do. And look at some of my fears.
As a recent driver (2 years woohoo), I've gotten more comfortable being on the road. But I'm frightened of "the accident" that I'm sure will happen at some point. Just Please don't let it be paralizing, coma, or fatal.
I've been appreciating life and friends this month in memory of him. Went out dancing with a new friend to a group that Bret would have enjoyed. Had dinner with several friends/co-workers who normally are too busy or working opposite schedules. Went with the hubby to his long-time friend's intimate garden wedding. Saw the niece, nephews, and family and played hard with them.
I can't and won't forget Bret. But I can live as he did - appreciating all the wonderful people along the way.
