New Haven St. Paddy's Day Parade

Here are pics of the local St. Patrick's Day Parade, which marched just 1/2 block away from our place:
Before the 1:30p start, there's a slow "reverse parade" as some of the marchers get into place, often visiting with friends along the way. Here's some firefighters with freshly painted shamrocks from the booth across the street.
My favorite shot: The kid with hat that's almost bigger than him, and a mom to match.

Parade is on! Lots of bagpipes!

And St. Patrick, of course;

What Star Wars has to do with it all, I don't know. But it's nice to know there are Irish stormtroopers too!

This was such a cute hometown parade. Such fun to watch, in spite of the rain. We even set ourselves up like the hometowners did, with chairs on the sidewalk and munchies at our side.
