Berkshire openings
This week was the official re-opening of the Colonial Theater in Pittsfield, with the touring production of "Rent", which just fits in the space. I was invited to be on the load-in crew, but I couldn't do it because I was in tech rehearsal for BTF's final show of the season - Via Dolorosa.

Via Dolorosa was lit by a Brandeis 3rd-year grad student. The whole process of tech rehearsal was long and fustrating because the preliminary communication between the Director and the Lighting Designer did not go well, so many changes had to be made between the start of Monday tech rehearsal and Tuesday night's first preview performance. Most of the ideas and strong lighting looks came straight from the director, who handled the whole situation well, even though he had been worried about such a situation. But Cartland as the Master Electrician handled it all very well and kept great track of the paperwork. I did my part in programming as quick as I could and helped with I-Cue and switchbox tracking without being asked. The LD appreciated the help but I don't think he fully realized the scope of how much we helped him (but then very few do, it seems).
