Enroute
Still flying cross-contry, about halfway thru the flight. Just finished the in-flight movie "The Game of Their Lives" about the 1950's US World Cup Soccer Team that upset England 1-0 in their first match.
Each of the players on that team took a risk to play on that team - knowing they were not world champions, just placeholders and ambassadors of America to the rest of the world. yet they thought they would not be remembered, or even worse, a laughingstock.
"Little o' me" is going to Yale. Going to work with folks with more skills than I. Folks who know how to use Lightwright and Vectorworks and AutoCad way more fully than i. I'm like the scrappy St. Louis Italians in the movie - I have skills with my hands and a brain capable of creative thinking.Yet I can do so much; and apparently am worthy of considering with the top.
5:30p EST in Philly.
I've taken a shuttle bus from the terminal i landed at to the terminal for my next flight. This shuttle runs only in the gate area, so riding on it feels like a Universal Studios tram studio tour without the patter.

The planes used for the short hop (one hour) from Philly to New Haven is a Turboprop plane - really small and uses propellers to fly. You walk across the tarmac and board the plane using it's own stairs. And my carryon has to be stowed with the rest of the luggage 'cause the overhead bins are far too small to hold it. But if you put a carryon tag on it, the airline will take it out first and have it waiting on the tarmac for you upon your arrival. During flight, it's really noisy.
On the flight I chat with a teacher who works at a high school only a half mile from Yale. He happily points out parts of Long Island and yaps at me about his son and asks how I got an Alias episode on my computer.
Tweed airport is SOOO tiny. Only 2 gates, 1 baggage claim, and i was in a cab within a minute of leaving the plane. And seeing the houses in the airport area, they were such classic Connecticut houses, so cute.
