Snow! (finally) & Happy Valentine's!
The first N'easter storm hit last night, with snow and ice, and we woke up this morning to snow everywhere. And this time it'll stick today 'cause the storm is continuing all day thru tomorrow. It'll suck to go out tonight for Valentine's, but we were planning a night in anyway.
The last two times we've had snow, it barely covered the ground and it was all melted away by day's end. Unlike upstate NY, we haven't seen much in cold or snow at all this winter, so it's hardly felt like it.
Other things I've been doing lately:
I setup and ran lights for two lectures: Art Spieglman, graphic artist of Maus and Two Towers; and Peter Gelb, general manager of the Metropolitan Opera and the driving force behind showing opera to the masses, including the Madame Butterfly opening night broadcast to Time Square and Lincoln Center and live opera broadcast in HD to Movie Theaters. Both were very interesting lectures to hear.
I'm having to consider my summer options now. It's a challenge to pick what to do and where do it. More details will come (of course, I don't want to jinx anything now)
I had homework to complete for the rigging class I'm taking at the School of Drama. It's been 10 years since college and homework so I felt a little rusty. But I found a study partner and I just have to focus.
I just finished watching 6 Feet Under, the series, which hubby got me for Christmas. Wow, very emotional and gripping series to watch.
There will be an article published about me in the high school alumni newsletter soon. It's hard to believe all I do in theater is considered noteworthy and exciting, but I guess it is.
Well, I gotta walk three blocks thru the snowstorm to work now. Have a happy and cosy Valentine's! I love and miss you all.
