Last day in New Haven, CT

Today's my last full day in New Haven, CT. Tomorrow I head up to Massachusetts to see friends in the Berkshires, then on Monday I drive to my summer job: Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, NY.
I'm only halfway thru my packing, so lots more to do. Plus the trunk of my car still needs to be vaccummed out from carrying a Christmas tree last December. And I need to finish copying stuff from Jamie's computer and downloading stuff while I still have a fast connection at home. And it's hot and muggy here again today so my energy is low.
I'm still nervous and a little scared about the whole thing. It's the fear of the unknown mostly since I don't know the area, most of the people at Glimmerglass, or what the job will really be like. Plus it's leaving Jamie behind for those three months. We'll still be in touch as much as my spotty access to cell phone service and internet will allow. This will be the longest we've been apart, so it'll be a a bit of a trial for us. Plus, I've never lived on my own like this, so it'll also be a test of my cooking, cleaning and caring for cat skills, as well as living with housemates whom I know nothing about right now except they are both named the same.
Working at Glimmerglass has been a bit of a dream of mine for a while so I'm really excited about it (when I'm not a bundle of nerves). I really hope I can do well. Everyone that has heard I'm going to Glimmerglass has been impressed (then there's always the next question: Where's Glimmerglass located?) So I really hope that doing this will help continue to push me forward in my career and life. Wish me luck!

But enough about me, How are you doing? Please stay in touch - I'd love to hear from you!
