Preparing for the BIG move

THANKS SO MUCH to everyone who sent me a response to my news. It's been so great to hear from all of you and to read all of your well-wishes and praise, it's so wonderful I cry sometimes.

Since I got the final offer from Yale, my apartment's been a sorry mess. Moving out of a two bedroom apartment that we've been in for 12 years is quite a challenge. The moving sale was a success but I still have so much more stuff to deal with. We sold some books, got a storage space, and will be posting stuff for sale on Craigslist, but still the stuff keeps coming out from all corners. It's for lack of time right now that so much stuff is just going straight to storage so we can sort out what's traveling to Yale. It's so hard to let go, but I just have to remember my mom and her decades worth of stuff that she can't let go to remind myself I can't keep it all.

Jamie has decided to drive cross-country, I'll fly with the cat, and the stuff will be shipped. We're still looking for a sublet for the place (anyone know anyone?)

Plus I'm in the middle of changeover at Cal Shakes, rehanging the lights in all the positions to prepare for "The Tempest". So I've been a little distracted and disjointed (Forgive me). And I've just learned a great and dear friend of mine is leaving his position as Production Manager of Cal Shakes and taking a new position with ACT. Which means any info I would have entrusted to him about the department for the rest of the season now has to be conveyed to several different people.

AKK!

So now I'm just looking at small goals - get the hang ready for focus tonight, write up a few Craigslist postings, do a little shopping for the show and department. Buying the one-way plane ticket will have to wait a few days 'til I'm a little more ready.
