Final day in Bay Area
Thanks so much to all of you who came out and helped Jamie and I empty our apartment! Your assistance is much appreciated (especially by our backs). And thanks for all the kind words you've shared recently, either by phone, email, or in person. It's so gratifying to hear from you. And thanks for all the advice. We'll endeavor to remember it all.
It's our last full day here in the Bay Area. We're still emptying out the apartment (computer, bed, random crap) into the trailer and storage. And there's the last few errands to run: calling the utilities, getting a few more boxes, making a last donation run.
At this point, I'm just concentrating on the schedule to get everything done by this evening in time for a late night dinner.
We're staying at a hotel by SFO tonight. The flight out leaves tomorrow at 6:30am.
The emotions hit only when I'm alone and sitting still for long enough. Like now. I still can't believe I'm actually doing this. Leaving behind all my friends and my mother for a job. Yes, there are people everyday who are doing this step. I just didn't imagine even 2 months ago that I would be too. I feel like I'm being selfish and abandoning this wonderful theater scene here in the SF Bay Area just to go to another gig. I've enjoyed the scene and the variety of work so much. But I do know that I'm have to move on in order to grow. I'd always imagined that I would have time, more time than just a month, to contimplate and do such a big move. I'd always joke "Why should I move from the Bay Area when everyone's coming here?" And now I'm leaving. What does such a move say?
Wish me a safe trip.
