Travel and Arrival in New Haven
We've packed and sealed up the trailer, dumped a bunch of stuff by the dumpster, made the last storage run, and had one last dinner and picture with Jamie's friends.
We spent 5 hours at a hotel by SFO, then flew into Cincinnati, and quickly picked up a direct flight to New Haven. The travel day went smoothly. The most stressful part was going thru security and having to take Sheba out of the carrier so it could go thru x-ray and Sheba and I could walk thru the dectector. Otherwise the cat dealt with it all pretty well considering it was her first time traveling like this.
Now we're staying at the Residence Inn Marriott on Long Wharf Drive. We'll be looking at apartments today.
For the first time in nearly 8 years, I am not actively involved in a production or theater in some way. I'm not vetting a plot or prepping a script. I'm not running in 3 directions at once with several shows at the same time. I'm not hustling up work for the next month. I'm not holding keys to a theater. I don't have a work schedule.
And I don't have to do anything theater related right now.
I have the job pending at Yale, but I don't know any specifics yet, like which theater I'll be in charge of or what show I'll be doing next.
It's a strange feeling.
